David & Becca tied the knot on a beautiful November day in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It was such a joy to see all the details of their special day come together, all their friends & family join forces, and create the fairytale wedding that Becca & David had planned.

Becca is my new step-sister and it has been a great joy to get to know her & her fiance, David, through their whole engagement & wedding process.

Second Shooter for Pam Bolig | Wye Branch Manor | Centreville, Maryland

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to assist Pam Bolig of Bolig Photography with Greg & Amanda’s wedding on the gorgeous Eastern Shore. When Pam told me the wedding was the the Wye Branch Manor, I had no idea what that meant. When I arrived, I was stunned! This house & land are absolutely beautiful. It can sometimes be a dream when the wedding & reception all take place in one location. And there’s something about an Inn that lends a homey feel to any wedding.

The First Look | Second Shooter for Natalie Franke | Cathedral of Mary Our Queen Wedding

First look? What’s a first look? Well, according to me, a first look is when the Bride & Groom share a special moment BEFORE the ceremony. They check out each other’s fancy duds, hug, kiss, cuddle, & get calm before their big commitment. It can be a very sweet moment. It’s also a photographer’s dream! It gives us a special moment with the bride & groom before the flurry of ceremony, family portraits, reception, dancing, dinner, toasts, and on and on and on. Sometimes, it’s the bride & groom’s only time alone the entire day!

When I got to second shoot with Natalie Franke again, I was thrilled that Farrah & David had decided to have their own first look. Check out Natalie’s blog for some amazing photos of the day.

Second Shooter for Megan Beth Photography | Hurricane Irene Wedding | Annapolis, Maryland

Right as hurricane Irene was breathing down our necks here in Annapolis, I was assisting Megan Beth on a wedding that had to be moved due to the storm. Check out Megan’s blog post here and see how this wonderful couple had to plan & replan their wedding three times in 48 hours!

And finally, I had to share Megan’s sweet gesture. She brought me cupcakes from Georgetown Cupcake. However, in the frenzy of the day, they didn’t quite survive, haha! No problem for me though, I ate one anyway!

It’s so awesome to get to second shoot with great photographers more than once! That’s actually how I got started in this biz. You learn their style, their needs, their preferences – and you being to compliment one another on what can sometimes be a high-stress day.

Natalie asked me to assist her on a wedding of two just absolutely sweet, down-to-earth people in Baltimore. Justin & Katharine…*sigh* Utterly calm, friendly, & genuine. I was thrilled to hear from Meghan Ashley when she asked me to assist her on Jason & Emilee’s amazing wedding at the Engineer’s Club in Baltimore. She had so many exciting things to tell me that they had planned – a Hindu ceremony, Jason arriving on a decorated horse, bag pipes & Indian drums, bright & beautiful colors, and on & on. Greg + Ginnie = Married! | Ft. Belvoir, VA Wedding Photographer

My good friend Beverly I and drove down this past weekend to Ft. Belvoir, Virginia to shoot the wedding of Greg & Ginnie. Now I had only met Ginnie & her parents once prior to the wedding day, but I knew from that day & from our numerous e-mails that we had a connection. Her dear, sweet father even asked me how my children were doing when I first arrived – how awesome & thoughtful is that!?!? Beverly & I both commented to each other that it was so refreshing to see a wedding where two people were so much in love with one another that all they could do after the ceremony was just gaze at one another & be in each others’ arms.

And despite the sweltering heat, everyone was so gracious & so wonderful for Greg & Ginnie’s special day.

Greg & Ginnie are married! I have lots more to show you in addition to this picture, but it stood out to me as unique for this wedding. Ya see, Ginnie’s favorite color is green & she just knew these shoes would be perfect for her wedding day. And she had wanted a photo all day showing them off. As the last of the light was quickly fading, Beverly & I took them out in to the June heat, sat them down, and got this shot. Congratulations Greg & Ginnie! You’re wedding was awesomely wonderful, and I should know, I am super tired today to prove it!
