2010: Image 189 – Sun flare & back lighting

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

On Saturday I had the opportunity to photograph for a budding photographer & her family.  Pam & I connected through our mutual friend Megan with the DragonFly Dance Experiment – remember that session?  She had me over to the Eastern Shore of Maryland for a morning session.  If you know me, you know rising early is not one of my stronger qualities.  But I did it, and am so thankful that I did.  Pam challenged me to stretch my capabilities & try shooting with back lighting.  I think I did okay for my first try.  Anyone else wanna make me get up early & photograph them?  I may just do it again, if I like ya enough.  Thanks Pam, John & little Emma.  It was a pleasure to meet you all & thank you for showing me your great park!

2010: Image 133 – Image 138 – Victory Jam!

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Each year Josh serves the youth in our church by running the sound, video, skits, music, etc at a camp called Victory Jam.  It’s held at Harvey Cedars Bible Conference in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey.  This is Josh’s 11th year, and my 6th.  I am amazed every year at what he can accomplish.  To give you a hint, here are the must have items on Josh’s packing list:  case of water, 12 t-shirts (2 per day), 2 video cameras, 2 iMac computers, iPhone, sound board, projector, 4 speakers, 20 DVD cases & blank DVDs, Skittles, and a constant flow of 5-hour energy drinks.  He works like a mad man & I love him for it.  And he graciously takes the girls & I along even though I’m no longer able to help.

Here are just a few photos of our week there.  I’ll be posting more on my Facebook page later.

2010: Image 117 – Cowboy Cookies

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Let’s be honest, okay?  I have not been in love with holding my camera for the past three days.  I have been neck deep in all kinds of emotions lately.  Feeling unhappy with myself, feeling sad for others, feeling happiness for others, and feeling overwhelmed.  For the past few days I have just been living my life & not documenting it.  Now I know the 365 Project is supposed to be consistent, disciplined, and every day.  However, I have fallen off the wagon and am determined to see this thing through.  So, I start new again (His mercies are new every morning, right?) today with this photo I took tonight of some cowboy cookies.  They were yummy, fattening, and just plain comforting.  And now it’s time to move on & keep on the path I started.  Oh, and you are welcome to keep me accountable…..

2010: Image 105 – We need another desk!

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

My poor sweet husband…here he is working on the floor of our office/playroom sitting against a play kitchen!  I guess we might need another desk, or at the very least a table for him to sit down at!  Thanks for letting me use the desk so much, Josh.
