Doris Pearl Emrich | A celebration of the good life
Monday, May 23rd, 2011When this song popped on the radio yesterday, I KNEW it reminded me of Nanna. Nanna is my husband’s grandmother, Doris. She recently passed away peacefully in her sleep & is now walking the streets of gold. She will be sorely missed, but she really did live a good life. As Josh’s cousin Jeff said at her memorial luncheon, Nanna barely had more than $5 in her pocked at any given time – but that $5 was yours, no questions asked. She loved to love, to talk, to cook, and to fill bellies. She made too much food, always. She talked too much. She was always right. She had a good life. Ask any of her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, or 13 great-grandchildren. We love you Nanna.
