Today I got to visit Baltimore, which I know barely anything about. I can usually count on my brother-in-law Bert to find awesome spots to photograph his family. My niece Mackinzie recently turned 3 and her mom asked if I’d take a couple of shots of her for this glorious occasion!

Okay now, my sister-in-law, Mackinzie’s mom, Laura, dresses her daughter so cute! These fuzzy boots she was wearing were adorable! These boots were so awesome that two total strangers walking behind us starting singing, “Apple bottom jeans…boots with the fur…” (if you know the song, you know it, if you don’t…sorry!).

Mackinzie is also a testament to how great a child can be for a few Skittles! Thanks Bert, Laura, and Kinzie for sharing your afternoon with me! Enjoy your preview!

Bert & Laura got married on July 5, 2008 after having months of rain every weekend prior. There was a ton of rain in the forecast and even thunderstorms. It was even raining on the way the Rode’s house! We got there at 10am to help set up all of the chairs and things for the reception and magically (or by God’s grace), the rain stopped! Bert & Laura had a picture perfect day for their union. Everyone looked so lovely and summery, Mackinzie was happy, Bert was teary-eyed, and Laura couldn’t stop smiling! It was a wonderful day and my super assistant Beverly made it possible to accomplish this very important day. Thanks Bert, Laura, & Mackinzie for letting me practice on you again! Happy wedding & honeymoon!

Laura is my lovely sister-in-law and Bert is my husband Josh’s childhood friend from Baltimore. Bert asked me to take their engagement photos at Fell’s Point & Federal Hill in Baltimore – two places I am very unfamiliar with. After shooting there I would highly recommend it. There’s an old city feel, with lots of unique places to shot. We had quite a time with lots of sun and very strong winds, but also lots of fun! I can’t wait for the wedding in July!
