Neve & Owen – Newborn Twins

Thursday, April 1st, 2010

I mentioned earlier that I’ve never had experience with newborn twins until this past weekend when I met two sets!  These little snuggle bugs are Neve & Owen.  I find it just so neat how babies come out of the womb with definite, distinct personalities.  Owen & Neve are no exception.  I only spent about 2 hours with them, but I witnessed their little individual selves almost immediately.  Owen is a little more laid back, & Neve isn’t afraid to tell you when she doesn’t like something.  And once I thought we got them both sleepy at the same time, they’d flip flop on me, double team me, and get a little fussy.  Ahhh, but isn’t that the very thing we expect with babies.  And I absolutely loved how mom & dad were as cool as cucumbers.  Crying faces in photos didn’t bother them, they weren’t uptight about certain outfits, they just went with the flow.

Here are Neve & Owen….

*Oh, and if you’re wondering where their mom got their sweet knit hats & diaper covers, I’m told they were purchased on Etsy.  I’ll try to get the specific seller from her so you can take a look.

Thanks for having me Owen & Neve.  I hope you slept well after I left…I know I did!

Veronica & Vanessa – Newborn Session

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

I have never ever photographed newborn twins, and then – wham-o! – I got two sets in one weekend!  What is with you people and twins this spring?  This is the 3rd set I know of being born!  It’s so great!

Meet Vanessa & Veronica!  They are little sisters to Gabrielle, who loves to give out kisses to her babies!  The best part of the session – besides Veronica not liking me and crying when I tried to get her photo – was Gabrielle singing a little Lady GaGa to keep me going.  How did she know that was in my “pump me up” mix?!?!?!

Here are few of my faves from our afternoon together…

First day of school!!!!

Monday, August 31st, 2009

It’s so weird not being a teacher anymore because I still get excited when I see the back to school supply ads & the thought of shiny new name tags & new little faces coming in to my classroom still makes me giddy. However, that is not my lot in life at this point and I am satisfied. I now get to be on the parent side of this phenomenon. Emma, my four-year-old (or “four and a HAF” as she says it) had her first “preview” day last Wednesday. She got to attend school for one hour and meet half of her classmates & get reacquainted with her old classroom. She picked out her outfit, chose her headband, put on her socks & shoes all by herself, and even brushed her teeth three times! And as we were leaving she stole a flower from our community for her teacher. And as Brooke does, she copied Emma in every little detail of the day, right down to the flower theft. Here are Emma’s first day snapshots…

Now Brooke (or Brookie as we lovingly call her) went to school the Friday after Emma for her “preview” day.  She has been practicing her teachers’ names before bed and was excited to use them.  For those of you who know Brooke, you probably knew she would have no problem at all in two-year-old class.  We sent Emma at age two because she was deathly shy.  We send Brooke at age two so she can learn to share & follow directions.  They are just different people!  She was very determined to put her shoes on “aw by my felf” so Amaw was so generous and took her fat feet to Stride Rite & got her 2 new pairs of kicks…complete with Velcro!  I’ll let the photos tell you the rest….
