Joy & David – Engaged | Annapolis Engagement Photographer

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

Joy, and her sister Hope, were some of the first friends I met when my family moved to Maryland so many years ago.  And it was such an honor & delight to be able to photograph her engagement to David.  To see her so utterly happy made me quite emotional.  During their session I wanted to cry with happiness, and even more so during editing it.

Enjoy their photos…

David & Becca | Downtown Lancaster Engagement Photographer

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

I met Becca when her mom & my dad started dating a few years ago.  We have gotten to know each other a little better in the year since they’ve been married.  So when she recently became engaged to David, I was super stoked.  I mean she’s my step-sister, I’m a photographer, I LOVE everything weddings…what’s not be excited about?!?!?

I met David & Becca in Downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania early this weekend in the hopes of beating the heat & the brutal summer storms we’ve been having.  We had success!

And can I say how much I LOVE this couple?  They went & scoped out places THEY wanted their engagement photos!  They chose the spots, the organized some props – it was a dream!  Especially since I am unfamiliar with Lancaster.  And at the end of our time together, David – sweet David – treated me to my first Crepe!  They were engaged at Rachel’s Cafe & Creperie on Queen Street, so it was appropriate that we came full circle and ended there.  (plus my tummy was grumbling for some grub!)

Check back in late November for their wedding photos.  I’ve been following all of Becca’s ideas on Pinterest & it looks like it’ll be a wonderful day!

First stop: the 8th floor of a parking garage!  Great view of the city.

Next:  an amazing gem of a park hidden behind the Press Room restaurant.

Becca is a teacher, so we thought the chalk was totally appropriate.

And next:  the red wall!

Scrabble is one of their favorite games to play together.  Precious!

Thanks David & Becca.  I look forward to seeing you again in November!

Samantha & Patrick | Belated Engagement Session | Downtown Annapolis & USNA Photographer

Friday, July 8th, 2011

Samantha & Patrick were married a few weeks ago, but, regrettably, never got to have an engagement session.  So when Sammie contacted me over the weekend to see if I had any immediate openings, I was excited to make their session happen.  She explained to me that they would both be going to training on opposite coasts & wanted to get these photos done in the place they had called their home for the past 4 year – Annapolis and the United States Naval Academy.

We headed out on Sunday evening and about half way through, dark clouds started following us like the Nothing from Never Ending Story.  We did get to take a break on the yard & watch the amazing storm roll in & out.  It was absolutely breathtaking!

Thanks Patrick & Samantha for being so sweet & in love – it definitely shows in your photos!

Rob & Catherine | United States Naval Academy | Annapolis Engagement Photographer

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Last weekend I met up with Rob & Catherine on a day that couldn’t decide if it wanted to rain or not.  Having just come back from sunny Ethiopia, I wasn’t quite enjoying the Spring Maryland weather, but this Saturday turned out perfectly!  We got hit by a few drops here & there, but overall had a nice, overcast day with almost no squinting – hooray!

Rob & Catherine, enjoy your preview & be sure to send me photos of you wonderful New England wedding – I know they will be stunning!

And ps – Catherine, I totally need you to select my wardrobe!  I loved everything you chose for your photos – truly lovely!

Love & Law Enforcement | Annapolis Engagement Photographer

Friday, September 24th, 2010

I think the first time I met Laura I might have been in 11th grade (although she wasn’t).  I think I was in a creative writing class with her older sister & she may have come once??  I can’t remember…all those Witherspoon girls look alike, and gorgeous!  Well, she met a guy, named Brian, while they were starting out in the Police Academy.  Cool place to meet, huh?  Finding love while doing push ups & being yelled at?  Sweet!

Laura & Brian are getting married in about a month & a wonderful photographer – Stacy Richardson – is shooting their wedding.  Be sure to check ‘em out in a month.  Laura really wanted to incorporate some of the places & items from the beginning of their relationship.  So she brought along hand cuffs, badges & radios and we trekked across Downtown Annapolis & the Police Academy (with permission, of course!) to see what we could get.

Now I don’t normally post an ENTIRE engagement session, but I know Laura’s sisters really want to see the whole shebang!  And I kinda wanna show it too.  So, if you HATE photos, see ya!  Come back for the 365.  For those of you who can’t get enough pictures, hang on baby…..
