Product Spotlight: The Organic Bloom frame | Annapolis Photographer

Friday, May 6th, 2011

Late last year I came across a gem of a company via Facebook – The Organic Bloom.  I loved the look of their boutique frames & it was a HUGE draw for me that they were from my home state of Oklahoma!  They offer a wide variety of frame types and colors & impeccable customer service.  A former bride of mine recently lost her grandfather & I wanted to give a gift to her parents to remember him by.  I contacted Rachel, with The Organic Bloom, to see if they had any ready to ship frames in black.  She got me one super quick so I was able to drop by the framed print yesterday.  What a wonderful feeling to help a family daily see a fond memory of their loved one on their walls.

HUGE Canvas Sale | 16×24 vs. 8×10

Thursday, May 5th, 2011

So what’s the big deal with buying an 8×10 to grace your walls?  Nothing at all.  It is NO BIG DEAL, it’s a small deal.  Unless you are going to place that 8×10 along with 9 others of the same size, or put it on a tiny wall, an 8×10 is considered a “gift print” or a “desk print.”  These prints are traditionally placed on desks, or given as gifts.  To truly grace your walls, bigger IS better.

My awesome canvas supplier is having a HUGE short sale on 16×24 canvases.  I normally sell them for $260.00 each.  Now through midnight on Friday they will be $160.00.  THAT’S $100 OFF!!!  She’s crazy, but I love her canvases.  I can’t get enough of them!  I may order one for myself too!

“What if I don’t know what photo I want on my canvas?”  Not a problem.  You can pre-order now, pay the $160.00 via PayPal, and choose your image at a later date.  That’s the awesome thing about this company.  They know we are indecisive creatures and these choices take time.  So buy it now (MOTHERS DAY…ahem, cough cough) and choose the image later.

*Image must be one you’ve had taken by me, or are planning on me taking in the future.  Sorry, I can’t use others’ images*

Announced: Valentine-themed Mini Sessions

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

Hey there friends!  Hope you’re all doing well.  Head on over to my Facebook Fan Page to sign up for my Valentine-themed mini sessions.  They are taking place on Saturday, January 15th beginning at 10am at MY HOUSE – I better start cleaning!

Sessions will last approximately 20 minutes & will feature a white seamless background with various red & pink props.  Any and all children are welcome, although I recommend they be able to sit unassisted.  Attire is your choice, however I think blue jeans & white t-shirts with bare little footsies would look adorable!

The cost is $80.00 and includes:  20-minute session, 5-10 proofs to view online, and ONE of the following 1) one digital image or 2) 40 customized Valentine cards or 3) one 8×10 & two 5x7s.

Thanks for heading on over & signing up.  This is my first attempt at a mobile studio set up & I can’t wait to get it off the ground & running.  Here’s to not being a slave to the weather!

Below are several card choices…

New in 2011 | Indoor Mini Sessions

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

I’m not a fan of cold, or snow for that matter, but I don’t want to just freeze my business like the cold air this winter.  I’ve been waiting, & researching, & learning, & debating on getting a portable indoor lighting set up.  Well, my Santa (aka Josh) got me some lights for Christmas, Stephen from Gosling Photography showed me his magic in how to use them, & my daughters have been gracious in letting me practice on them.  So I think I’m ready to take the plunge on a small scale.  As of RIGHT NOW I will be offering indoor mini photo sessions.  I am in LOVE with all the possibilities this brings, especially the “themed” sessions:  Valentine’s Day, Easter, Spring, Birthdays, and so on.  The sky is the limit!  Here’s a little taste of what can be done with a little white paper, an empty dining room, and all the pink dress up things we could find!  Details on price, location, & date of the Valentine’s Day-themed mini’s will be coming shortly…

I have many more of these, but I don’t want to spoil the surprise for the people who are going to be receiving them for Christmas.  This is a quick peek at a 2″x3″ ornament frame from The Organic Bloom.  They are a vendor from my home state of Oklahoma that I will soon be working with by offering their gorgeous frames to my clients.  I cannot wait!
