Devin & Steph | Patterson Park Portrait Photographer

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Occasionally I get the photo session that I have to keep under wraps until it can be presented as a gift to a loved one.  That’s the case with Devin & Steph’s session.  They sweetly planned to give their family some photos of themselves for the holidays.  But man, if you know me, keeping secrets is so hard!  Steph let me know recently that I could share their lovely photos.  Yeah – a weight off my shoulders!

We met up in Patterson Park in the autumn and they brought along their sweet dog, Nimbus.  We had a great day, lovely weather, and plenty of pups for Nimbus to make friends with.

Enjoy their photos!

Vroom, vroom, Vespa! | Scooter Shoot with Armin DeFiesta | Arnold, Maryland

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

It all started out as a little joke.  A fellow local photographer, Armin, posted on his Facebook that he’d like to shoot an exotic car.  I jokingly put, “Oh, well, all I have is a Vespa…haha.”  Well, that was good enough for Armin, especially when he found out it was red!

My husband bought his racy red Vespa about 2+ years ago to help cut down on his gas usage for the little trips he frequently takes in and around our area.  I was more than a little skeptical that we would actually get any use out of it, and that it would be more than a new toy.  Once I sat down on that spicy red thing, felt the wind in my face & got used to riding it, I was hooked!  You can frequently hear us “discussing” who will get to ride it next to here or there.  And our girls….oh they LOVE it!  Josh takes them on teeny tiny rides in the front yard & our neighborhood street and they get quite the thrill.

Armin & I were finally able to make everything come together yesterday for the Vespa shoot.  We got the date, the babysitter, the location, the Vespa, and even a bonus model – Noelle!  And I was thrilled to be able to see how Armin worked.  It’s always great to see other photographers doing their thing & to get ideas to grow & challenge yourself.  Thanks for letting me tag along, Armin.  And thanks to the Superczynski family for letting us use your farm.  And thank you, Noelle, for being a willing model.

Joe & Robin | Just Because I Love You | Broadneck Park Photographer

Friday, April 8th, 2011

My sister-in-law Robin is the baby of the family, so I think it’s hard for everyone to see her growing up & dating now.  Last year she started dating a really sweet guy, Joe.  Now I don’t know much about Joe yet, but I do know he possesses these great qualities:  he watches the same TV shows as me, he runs to clear his mind (like me), he’s in the Army, and he thinks Robin is super awesome.  Those pretty much make him a good guy.  Well, he & Robin will be starting the long-distance thing since the Army has called him away for a while.  And before they swept him down south, we headed out to Broadneck park for some casual “Just Because” photos of the two of them.  As Robin said, I take better photos than a cell phone, so she asked me.  Thanks Robin.  I like to think I blow a cell phone out of the water, but not to get cocky….

On to their photos!

And Rita’s Italian Ice, you are welcome to contact me for licensing to this super awesome pic by your store.  I’m thinking your new slogan can be “Ice. Custard. Love.”

Mark’s head shots | Baltimore Portrait Photographer

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

A little less than a week ago I met up with Mark at Patterson Park in Baltimore for some head shots for his new company & website.  Mark is the dad of a sweet client, Corinne, & she was so kind as to refer him to me.  Mark trekked down from PA to meet up on a cold morning for our session.  He’s got such a great smile & easy-going personality that we were finished in no time.  It really felt like a conversation more than a portrait session.  Thanks for making the drive Mark, and good luck with your new business – Fast Teks of Hunt Valley.

Jennifer & Wesley: A gift for their parents | Annapolis, MD Portrait Photographer

Monday, June 14th, 2010

Jenn & Wes are my husband’s cousins, so instead of calling them my cousin’s-in-law, I just refer to them as my cousins – it’s just easier that way.  AND….they are probably about as close as cousins anyway.  Jenn contacted me & told me she and her brother Wes wanted to surprise their parents with a Mother’s Day/Father’s Day gift of some new photos of the two of them.  They hadn’t had family pictures since their last vacation & decided it was time.  And it was especially important since both of these kids now live states away from their parents – the memories are so much more precious.

I’d have to say it was a challenging day.  The heat, the busy downtown area, and the fact that I didn’t want it to look like Wes & Jenn were a couple.  Um, no, they are brother & sister, not a couple…ewww, gross!  They were so patient with me moving them and changing my mind over and over again.  I think we got some pretty good shots & from what I’ve heard, their parents are thrilled!  Here’s Wes & Jenn….

Just had to share this last one of Jenn & her boyfriend!  Thanks for tagging along, Grant!
