2010: Image 287 – Isagenix

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

What is Isagenix you ask?  Don’t ask me for a detailed explanation, go watch their video.  Basically it’s a whole body cleanse.  What I can tell you is that five days in to this 11-day cleanse I’ve lost 6.4 pounds.  That is amazing for me!  Can’t wait to report at the end of the 11 days!

2010: Image 286 – Practice with lighting

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

A Twitter friend, Stephen Gosling, was so so generous to come to my house & teach me a little of the HUGE amount he knows about lighting.  I have been wanting to learn lighting for a little while now, but with the vast amounts of equipment out there, I was at a complete loss as to where to start.  I posed the question to my photographer friends on Twitter & Stephen gave me the best advice:  learn from someone who knows.  Thanks so much Stephen.  This is one of the photos we got.  I’ll post the whole lot a little later.  And thank you Gina & Noelle for being our models.  You girls rock!

2010: Image 285 – Sleepovers

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

There is the tiniest space at the end of Brooke’s bed where the girls LOVE to squeeze on nights they don’t have school the next morning.  They pretend to have sleep-overs with one another.  And, as it usually goes, they end up fighting & being moved apart.  But hey, at least they started out with good intentions.  I just love that they love one another – most of the time.

2010: Image 284 – Sroka competitive spirit

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Emma found domino’s at Gigi’s house & asked me to teach her to play.  Once Brooke won, and she was done pouting, she asked if we could keep playing until she won.   That’s the Sroka competitive spirit – always a winner!

2010: Image 283 – Josh’s helicopter

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

Technically it’s not really a helicopter, but kind of is?!?!?  Josh recently rewarded himself with this indulgence for working a LOT of extra time at work and at Renegade Apps.  I think he deserved it.

This thing is so neat.  It has a camera on the front & on the bottom so you can see where you’re going, or record video/photos.  And it’s run completely on the iPhone/iPad with Apps.  We’ve definitely crashed it in to a few things, already bought a replacement buffer, but are having a ton of fun.  The girls like to hide & have Josh find them with the helicopter.  Ruby…well, she’s the only one that hates it.  Every time she sees it she barks like crazy.  We should make it carry her…or not.
