2010: Image 174 – Creating Motion

Friday, July 30th, 2010

So, this photo is probably my “interesting” to date.  I was lacking inspiration for today’s 365 picture and almost forgot about it until I started reading Understanding Exposure before bed.   I’ve been going slowly through this book and the chapter on “Implying Motion” caught my attention.  When the 4th of July rolled around I wanted to try one of those cool, trendy sparkler-spells-a-word pictures, but never got to it.  Our sparklers were duds!  So tonight I picked up Josh’s iPhone & it has a cool app that makes the flash a flashlight.  And this is what I came up with!

It’s good to challenge yourself, right?

Summer Mini Session Time! | Annapolis Portrait Photographer

Friday, July 30th, 2010

I’ve had these mini sessions opened to my Facebook Fans for a bit and now I’m opening it up to anyone else who might not have heard.  (Sorry for those of you who’ve been bombarded by all the mentions of it…not too good at this marketing thing!) And for those of you wondering, “What the heck is a mini session?” let me explain.

Sometimes we just don’t have 2 full hours to dedicate to an entire photo session.  Sometimes we don’t have the money to dedicate to an entire photo session.  Or sometimes you can’t take 2 full hours of me – it’s okay, I understand.  The mini session is the perfect time to try me out, see how we click, and get a great deal on a small amount of poses.  We make it quick & easy.  You come to me.  I snap, snap, snap and wham-0!  In about a week I have a private gallery online for you to view your 5-10 proofs.  So, if you want an updated head shot for your resume, a photograph of your newly growing family, a picture with your dog, a photo for your 2010 Christmas card…whatever it may be, I can’t wait to see you!

2010: Image 173 – Bath time

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

It’s hard to get a bath shot without getting a butt shot too!  This one seemed to work out good.  Not sure what game they were playing, but it just looked fun.  We’re gonna need a bigger tub if they keep growing!

2010: Image 172 – Emma’s haircut

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Yesterday our dear sweet friend Jaime came over and gave Emma & I haircuts!  (mine included a little color too!)  Emma said she wanted a haircut like mommy’s so that meant short!  Here she is with most of it chopped off!  Now she really does look ready for kindergarten!

And if any of you moms dread getting your haircut because: A) you’ll have to pay for a babysitter too, or B) you just don’t have time, then get in touch with Jaime!  We met at our daughters’ preschool and in MOPS and she is certified, trained, formerly worked at Bubbles & comes right to your house!  It was great!  The girls played while she highlighted & cut my hair and it was such a relief!  Let me know if you want Jaime to come do your hair too.  She also does those fancy up-do’s for weddings & special occasions too!

2010: Image 171 – Ballerina Ruby

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

The girls were playing Ballerina in our room the other morning and decided that Ruby would like to be a ballerina too. So, we put her in the doggy dress that someone gave us & she danced too!  Then she gave Brooke a kiss!
