Win my App!

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

This post seems kinda “all about me!”  But, I gotta show off my husband’s hard work…I mean, he made me an iPhone App out of love, and who doesn’t want to brag about that?  So, I’m giving away 10 free copies of my iPhone App “Live Click Capture.”  The FIRST 10 people to comment (that have iPhones) will be e-mailed an access code to download my app for FREE!  Now, I know, 99 cents isn’t a lot of money, but that’s like almost an entire large Sweet Tea at McDonald’s!  And to help get the word out about my app, I’m giving these away in the hopes that you’ll download it, like it, give positive and/or creative feedback, and tell your friends!  Thanks for participating!

Oh, and this app isn’t meant ONLY for photographers….Josh & I designed it with anyone in mind.  Anyone with a camera who is looking for ideas when they are shooting.  You don’t have to be a “professional” to use it.  Now go get it!

bday-3

Today was my husband Josh’s 30th birthday!  He’s soooooooo old!  (I’ll be 30 in 10 months).  We had a low key party for him today at home.  Emma told me she wanted to get him a “bideo game” (aka video game) so we visited Target, then GameStop & finally found Super Mario Brothers for the Wii.  We made birthday brownies, had breakfast for dinner, blew out candles & just loved on Daddy.  What we did get at Target, and what I’m calling the “bonus blunder” is a card that I accidentally let Brooke pick out.  Let me just show you the photo below:

bday-1

Yup, you read it right.  I let my 2 year old child choose a card for her daddy that has profanity in it!  And I let her sign it too!  I didn’t even notice!  The kids didn’t notice, but I sure did give Josh and I a good laugh after she opened it.  Oh, well.  Just wanted to show you proof that I make mistakes too…and LOTS of them!

Photos I’ve been looking at:  Um…honestly today…none!  Sorry!  I was busy addressing all of my support letters for Ethiopia, cleaning up the house, & making a little birthday party.  I’ll look at two people tomorrow, just to make up for it!

Well, I’m off to hopefully break my 3-month losing streak at Settlers….any bets?

2010: Image 25 – New Growth

growth-50

Today was a day of personal, little disappointments for me.  I won’t go in to detail.  I probably just mulled over things too much in my head, had too many or too high of expectations of others, & consequently disappointment follows. Then, we had this glorious day.  We went outside & as I was picking up the recycling that the wind blew everywhere, I stumbled upon these little sprouts in my garden.  They are the beginnings of daffodils that bloom yearly.  And for some reason, they gave me hope & the sting of disappointment faded.  Thank you God, for new life, new growth, & new beginnings.

Here’s a quote on disappointment I found by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Amen.

Photos I’ve been looking at:  Meaghan Elliott…again.  These photos are so appropriate in talking about new life, new growth, and infinite hope.  The couple in this newborn session must’ve had infinite hope.  Just read the post, and you’ll understand.

princess-1

*Note to underage viewers:  Prince Phillip is pant-less in this photograph.  And he is only wearing one shoe.  We’ve lost his clothes, poor fella*

We are currently hosting our second sleepover of the week.  On Friday we had a big girls sleepover & now we are having a little girls sleepover.  I love that my girls are old enough to have friends over for fun events like this.  Cousin Mackinzie is sleeping over while her mommy & daddy celebrate their birthdays in sunny Florida.  She’s spending the night with us tonight because Emma wanted to return the sleepover favor that she showed us a few weeks ago.  Right now as I type they are upstairs playing with all of our princess paraphernalia.  As you can see by the photo of Brooke, we’ve misplaced some clothing, but that doesn’t derail the fun!

This photo is of Brooke with Belle, baby Belle, & Prince Phillip.  She put their clothes on very meticulously, got Phillip’s one boot on, and now they are a family.  It’s so cool to see their imagination during these games.  You also hear a lot of what you’ve said to them throughout the day come flying back out.  Like when Emma says, “What the?” And when Brooke says, “Actually…..”  Don’t know where they get these things!?!?!

Well, I’m off to get some little girls ready for bed.  We don’t have school tomorrow so they’re getting a treat by staying up late.  Night!
