2010: Image 7 – Morning
January 7th, 2010AHHHH! I’ve got less than an hour to blog! Today has been fun, but busy. I got a head shot from my friend Stacy (which required extensive grooming on my part), took the kids to lunch as a treat, prepared our lovely babysitter, Lauren, drove to Alexandria, and attended the DC Spread the Love Tour with Justin & Mary Marantz, got locked in the garage, had to walk umpteen blocks to get cash to get my car out, & finally made it home! Let’s say my day was filled with a good deal of prayer!
Anyway, about the photo above: This is our youngest daughter, Brooke. She’s 2 and a half & has been in her own “big girl” bed for about a year now. While we don’t tell her she can’t come out of her room in the morning, she has usually sat in her room calling for us when she’s ready to get up. Well, today she opened her own door & surprised me in my room while I was getting ready. She came in with her eyes all glazed over from sleep, her mouth & nose all crusty, and carrying every toy she could fit in her tiny hands. Then (after a quick diaper change), she spread out on the floor and watched cartoons on the TV while she woke up. This is her deep in thought while watching Peppa Pig. What could she be thinking?
A side note on this 365 thing, or more some personal ponderings that I could get your imput on:
1) what if there is more than one thing I do in a day that I want to share a photo about? What do I do?
2) what if I shoot an image really late & want to share it, but I know it’ll be too late – is it okay to share the next day, or is that cheating because it wasn’t taken that day?
I guess I’m learning as I go along. Thanks for stopping by!

Pick the best photo of the day. The PAD (Photo a day) challenge is not to tell us every little detail about your day. It will be easy to get overwhelmed with too much! So just pick one to share as the 365 project but nothing is stopping you from doing another whole post about whatever it is that you want to share.
As for being too late, I encourage you to at least take a photo each day and if you can’t post it until tomorrow, that’s ok! Jeremy’s goal was to TAKE a photo a day. Sometimes he would post a week’s batch at one time, but each was taken a different day.
Keep it up, girl! You are doing GREAT!

Oh, and whatever way you decide, stick to it! there is no right or wrong way to do this, this is your challenge to yourself! Just stick to your guns and make some specific rules for yourself. :0)

That’s a good idea Jane. So I don’t beat myself up when I don’t meet a deadline. I’ll have to skip 14 days when I’m in Ethiopia too!

Glad to see another person doing a 365. So fun! Love this photo. You can post the photo anytime you want, if it was still taken on the day then it still counts whenever you get around to sharing it with the rest of us. I was always behind posting mine last year. And for having 2 images that you love sometimes I would do a diptych showing 2 images together or even 3 as a series. Usually they were kind of similar though. But if you do lots of exciting photo worthy things in a day you can always pick your favorite for your 365 and then still share the rest ‘just because’. Really this is your project and you can make your own rules. Have fun with it!

Okay, thanks for sharing the formal name of that more than one photo collage thingy – “diptych.” I need a PS action to create some. And I’m all for making my own rules! That’s why I used to teach kindergarten – to be the boss!
