My girls

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted pictures of my ever-growing little girls.  Since I’ve stopped maintaining our family blog, my thought was to meld that blog in to this one.  I’m sorry to say it hasn’t happened as well as I thought.  So, I’m now attempting to update some family related stuff on this blog.

What’s beeng going on?  Emma’s finished her 2nd year at Asbury Community Christian Preschool and she’ll be attending their 4-year-old class next year!  Brooke also got accepted in to Asbury’s 2-year-old class for the fall.  I can’t believe both my girls will be in school!

Emma finally had her four-year check-up with Dr. Davis and she weighs 46 lbs and is 41 inches tall!  She was very brave and got 5 shots followed by a Rita’s frozen custard.  (Thanks, Mom, for going with us!)

Brooke hasn’t had her official 2-year check-up, but she did visit Dr. Davis the day after Emma with an unfortunate case of Hand Foot Mouth Disease…yuck!  She shared it so graciously with her daddy and today they both finally seem to be on the mend.  Brooke goes for her 2-year chest x-rays this week and next week she visits her surgeon for what we hope will be her last surgery check-up from her Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia repair almost exactly 2 years ago!

What are they in to now?  Sleep overs, nail painting, doll house, Ghost Busters movies, puzzles, kitchen, baking with mommy, the beach (Emma, not Brooke), swim lessons, weeding the garden, riding bikes & trikes, baby dolls, stealing my iPhone, and being anywhere but home.  Here are some quick pictures from June.

Stapler-Brewster Family

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

Ugh…we are sick at my house!  Apparently Brooke, my littlest one, has Hand Foot Mouth Disease (not really a “disease) and has given it to my husband as well.  They are both tired, with sore throats, fevers, have sores in their mouths, and are generally just sick.  Emma & I are hoping to avoid this rampant disease, but we’re not sure if we’ll be so lucky!  Apparently swimming in the pool last week at Victory Jam with about 300 other campers could be the culprit.  Who knows?

On a lighter, and much happier note, I had the great joy of photographing the Stapler-Brewster family this weekend at Downs Park in Pasadena, Maryland.  They were nominated last December for the Giving is Awesome intitiative and won!  You can read more about Giving is Awesome here.  Jennifer & Dave’s family experienced a house fire and lost most everything they owned.  Luckily, all the family members in the home made it out alive, which they are very grateful for.  Jennifer told me the foundation to their new house is just now being laid and they are excited to get back to normal.  I was so glad to be able to have this chance to help them rebuild some memories through family photos.  Thanks Dave, Jennifer, and kidlets.  You all were great, and well worth the sand in my shoes!
